Discovering the next Arctic frontiers: from the Yamal Peninsula to the Chukchi Sea

31 May & 1 June, 2011
Maastricht, the Netherlands

We are pleased to announce that the theme for the Harsh Weather summit will be: Discovering the next Arctic frontiers: from the Yamal Peninsula to the Chukchi Sea.

Based on the success of the 2008 harsh weather summit we will continue down the path of bringing together people, projects and technology, the key elements to unlocking the Arctic frontiers. The success of the 2008 summit can be measured by the diversity and depths of presentations, as well as the technology innovations that were highlighted.

In 2011 we will continue down this path. The key geographical focus will be on (though certainly not restricted to) the Yamal Peninsula, Greenland and the Chukchi Sea.

Key technical themes will include floating LNG, design/engineering challenges, environmental issues, subsea developments, and new emerging technologies.
The three areas each have their own challenges, and their contrast will add to the diversity and depth of discussion. Three geographical areas which represent the next technical challenge!

We would welcome your participation on a variety of fronts:

We will be upgrading our Knowledge Centre so that it will be a positive focal point for technical discussions.
